To be honest, I preferred the Alphas when they were still having romantic troubles, but they were a family.

To all of the shippers out there distraught that their ships are sinking at the moment, just take a minute to think about these poor kids. They’ve been stuck in a dead session for months with only each other for company—all of them are either wound up so tightly they’re going to burst (Jane and Jake), or are the victims of said bursting without being privy to whatever the heck is going on between everyone else due to lack of contact. (Dirk and Roxy, who in my opinion has been an ignored and pretty neutral party through this whole DirkJakeJane fiasco.)

All of them are tired and lonely and sad, but at the same time need their own space. It’s a mess, especially for kids growing up in isolation with a sudden barrage of feelings to confront without any guardians to confide in. Just each other. Romantic feelings are causing the Alphas to dive in waaaay over their heads and break the bonds they used to have while they were just messaging online.

The best thing I think the fandom as a whole can wish for is not for a specific ship to sail, but for these kids to regain their friendship above all else.
